REEDLEY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - An officer crashed with an SUV Saturday night while en route to aid in a pursuit with a man who eventually fought an officer, the Reedley Police Department announced Sunday. Police say around 10:30 p.m. an officer attempted to pull over a man suspected of driving under the influence when he failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. Reedley Police say an officer was on their way to assist the pursuit when they collided with an SUV on Manning and Frankwood avenues. JRMEDIA559JRMEDIA559JRMEDIA559 Investigators report the officer and two occupants in the SUV sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver in pursuit eventually fled into an apartment complex near Carob Avenue and Hollywood Drive where police say he fled his vehicle. On foot, he ran to his apartment where he fought an officer. Investigators report the officer tased the suspect and waited until additional units arrived to arrest him. Both incidents are actively under investigation.
