One dead in multivehicle crash on I15

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A deadly multi-vehicle crash on I-15 brought traffic to a standstill early Sunday.
California Highway Patrol responded to I-15 North, just south of Miramar Way, at 3:30 a.m. Sunday for a multi-vehicle collision.

According to CHP, four vehicles, including a motorcycle, were involved in a collision, with at least one of those vehicles ending up in a ditch off of the freeway. Another vehicle reportedly hit a disabled vehicle that was sitting in the lanes.
One person was killed during the multi-vehicle collision, however details about that victim have not yet been released.

Traffic was brought to a standstill for several hours as crews worked to clean debris that was scattered across the freeway. Lanes fully reopened at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Caltrans San Diego on X.
The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
