(BCN) -- A large portion of state Highway 37 in Solano and Sonoma counties will begin climate adaptation roadwork starting at 9 p.m. Monday and running every night through February, Caltrans announced.
Highway 37, a main artery that runs from Vallejo to San Rafael while also traversing Sonoma County, will have its eastbound lane shut down beginning at 9 p.m. from the state Highway 121 junction near Sears Point to Railroad Avenue in Vallejo.

Caltrans will be conducting drilling operations only in the evening as part of its mitigation efforts against rising sea levels.
The agency hopes to have this portion of the work done by Feb. 1. Eastbound traffic will be detoured north on Highway 121, east on Highway 12, and south on State Highway 29 to the Highway 37/29 connector.
The schedule will be Monday evenings to Saturday mornings throughout the month, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Caltrans said. Westbound traffic will not be affected.
