BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- We now know who the Buffalo Bills will host in the opening round of the NFL playoffs -- the Denver Broncos. The Broncos clinched the No. 7 seed in the AFC with a 38-0 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Having already clinched the No. 1 seed in the conference, the Chiefs rested their starters against Denver. The Broncos needed a win or a tie to clinch the No. 7 spot. The Bills had clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference heading into Week 18. The game will air on CBS at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Bills' last game against the Broncos was a memorable one in Buffalo -- but for all the wrong reasons. In November 2023, the Bills suffered a 24-22 defeat in a sloppy, turnover-filled primetime game. Broncos kicker Wil Lutz got a second attempt at a game-winning field goal after the Bills had too many players on the field -- he missed his first attempt -- and the Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey the following day. The Broncos are a very different team since that time. Russell Wilson is gone, and rookie Bo Nix has taken the reigns under center and excelled. The first-round pick out of Oregon looks to be Denver's quarterback for many years to come following a successful rookie season.
