WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a snow emergency on Sunday for D.C.
The snow emergency will stay in effect until at least Jan. 7.
The District deployed its snow team at noon and pretreatment will begin at 8 p.m. on all emergency routes.
Arlington County Public Schools closed on Monday due to winter weather
With the snow emergency in effect, drivers will not be able to park on snow emergency routes. Those parked in the snow emergency routes are at risk of being towed.
