PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. has installed TerraCycle cigarette waste containers around downtown Pittsfield through collaborative funding efforts, with the goal of making the town cleaner and greener. The container installation was made possible due to funding by Downtown Pittsfield, Inc., as well as Downtown Blooms, and support from Pittsfield Beautiful and Mill Town Foundation. The cigarette waste deposited into the containers will be shipped back to TerraCycle to be cleaned and recycled for new products to be made. The remaining ash and tobacco will be composted. Excel Dryer of East Longmeadow given ‘Great Place to Work’ certification Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. functions as a town organization made up of many community leaders to promote the downtown Pittsfield area and advocate for the needs of its residents. The cigarette waste containers are located in the following areas: The corner of Bradford Street The corner of Linden Street St. Joseph’s Church The seating area by the Berkshire Family YMCA The Ralph J.
