Battle of the Bigs Part 2: This time Jokic had the stats and the win. Coming off a win against the Denver Nuggets in Denver on Friday night, the Spurs looked for another dub versus the Nuggets in San Antonio. Just like the previous game, this one lived up to the billing. After a back-and-forth first half, the Spurs outscored the Nuggets 37-27 to take an 11-point lead. However, as they often have this season, the young Spurs let the lead slip away. As the fourth quarter came to a close, the Spurs and Nuggets were trading clutch baskets including a Devin Vassell putback layup to tie the game at 108 with 14 seconds remaining. Nikola Jokic missed a midrange jumper at the buzzer, and overtime began. The Nuggets dominated overtime by outscoring the Spurs 14-3, winning the game 122-111.
Victor Wembanyama turned 21 and dropped a 20-20 game with 20 points and 23 rebounds. He also dropped four blocks, three assists, and a steal. Due to a late stagnant offense, he never really found a good rhythm with his shot.

This was a disappointing loss, but at the end of the day, you’re happy you split the home and home with a championship contender. A back-to-back is never easy, especially when it’s a home and home The next time these two teams play will be in April, so only then will we see another heavyweight matchup like this.
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
The Spurs take on the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Monday at 7:00 P.M. (CST) on FDSN-SW.
