FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said a suspect was arrested in connection with the vandalism of the department’s Fallen Officers’ Memorial.
29-year-old Lim Rodrigues was arrested after police asked the public for help identifying a suspect in surveillance footage.
The department said that Rodrigues would be charges, but was suffering from “severe mental health challenges” and that the current focus was on getting him help.
“Our focus has now shifted toward ensuring the suspect receives the appropriate care and support necessary to address these issues,” a statement from police said.
The memorial was damaged by yellow spray paint on Jan. 4
