The lake effect snow machine is expected to kick into gear after 8 p.m. this evening. A band of heavy lake effect snow is expected to develop by early morning across the far SE corner of Milwaukee County and into Racine and Kenosha. This area could see 3-6 inches of snow with even more locally higher amounts possible. Most of Milwaukee lakeside should expect just a couple inches of snow and only up to an inch is expected lakeside north of Milwaukee. The lake effect snow should retreat back over the lake by lunchtime tomorrow.Colder winter weather is here to stay.
