MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was shot overnight after he told police he tried to chase a pair of suspects who carjacked him. On Saturday at 11:25 p.m., officers responded to a carjacking in the 3400 block of Wingate Cove. A male victim told officers that he and his brother were traveling eastbound on Chuck Ave in their 2011 GMC Terrain when they were flagged down by two women in the back of a gray Nissan Altima. He said that he stopped his vehicle to assist the women when two unknown suspects in the driver and passenger seats of the Altima got out of the car and pointed guns at them. When the two victims then got out of the GMC, the suspects entered and drove eastbound on Chuck Ave. As one of the victims ran after the vehicle, the suspects allegedly fired multiple shots at him, striking him in the left leg. The other victim told officers he was shot at but was not struck. Woman allegedly stabbed co-worker after fight about money The victim who was shot was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. At 4:06 a.m., officers located the stolen GMC Terrain facing westbound on the right shoulder of Henry Ave near Pope St. Officers ran the tags on the vehicle and it showed it was stolen and taken in a carjacking. According to the police report, an officer touched the hood of the vehicle and felt it was cold and had apparently been left parked for an extended period of time. The vehicle also did not appear to have any vehicle damage.
