MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- In the wake of Sunday’s storms, gusty northwest wind up to 40 mph will have temperatures tumbling overnight. We’ll fall into the mid to high 20s by early Monday, but it will feel more like mid to high teens. There is some potential for any wet spots on the roads that don’t dry overnight to become slick by sunrise Monday. This issue though should not be widespread, but it’s something to keep in mind for your morning commute. With some wraparound moisture still in play, we’ll likely see some flurries or light snow showers off and on during the day on Monday, but there won’t be any accumulation. Storms moving east, arctic cold moves in tonight While the weather will be quiet for most of the week, it will be quite cold. Temperatures will be running close to 20 degrees below normal for several days with highs in the 30s and lows in the teens/20s. Cold enough that you’ll want to drip your faucets at night to be safe. As it stands right now, there is potential for a winter storm to impact the Mid-South on Friday. What exactly that will look like in terms of snow and/or ice accumulation is something that will become clearer in the coming days as we gather more data and model output comes into better agreement.
