Warming Centers open ahead of upcoming freezing temperatures

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The city of Memphis announced that its Warming Centers will be open Sunday for the unhoused community and remain available until further notice.
The centers will open at 10 p.m. Sunday night and will remain open 24 hours until further notice.
All guests are welcome but they will need to check in upon arrival.
There will be two locations open as a way to accommodate all guests:
Single women and families will stay at the Hospitality Hub located at 590 Washington Ave
Single men and couples will stay at the First Baptist Church located at 200 East Parkway North
Transportation to both locations will be operated by MATA. Requests can be made by calling 901-297-1680 during Warming Center hours.
Sack meals and blankets will be provided while supplies last.
