Sagapolutele initially committed to Cal last summer but flipped his decision to Oregon during December's signing day. However, the four-star quarterback—ranked as the eighth-best signal-caller in the class of 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite—recently entered the transfer portal, ultimately opting to return to Berkeley. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rob DeMello KHON (@robdemello) An interesting twist in the situational landscape: former University of Hawaiʻi head coach Nick Rolovich now serves as an offensive analyst for the Golden Bears. That hire was made following Sagapolutele's decision to initially sign with Oregon. Sagapolutele leaves behind an impressive high school legacy, finishing as Hawaiʻi's all-time career passing leader in the state record books. His return to Cal reunites him with the program where he initially saw his collegiate future, and he'll look to make an impact in the blue and gold as a freshman in 2025.
