10 residential burglaries reported in Colonial Heights since November

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- The Colonial Heights Police Department is urging residents to stay vigilant after 10 residential burglaries were reported in the city since the end of November 2024.
On Friday, Jan. 3, the Colonial Heights Police Department said that detectives are actively investigating 10 residential burglaries reported in the city since Nov. 27, 2024.
According to police, single-family residences and vacant houses have been targeted with forced entry between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. with some of the items stolen including money, jewelry, personal documents, alcohol and household items.
Police shared the map below, on which the red dots show the areas that were recently targeted by burglars in Colonial Heights.

The police department is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
The department also advises residents to do the following:
Lock all doors and windows, even during the day
Use motion-activated lights and cameras to deter intruders
Keep valuables out of sight from windows
If traveling out of town, use the Colonial Heights "Residential Check Sheet" available at Police Headquarters.
