3 keys to a Giants win over Eagles

CAPITALIZE ON PHILLY SITTING STARS
Saquon Barkley and a slew of top Eagles players are sitting out Sunday’s game because Philadelphia already has clinched the NFC East and the conference’s No. 2 playoff seed. That should present Brian Daboll and his coaching staff an obvious opportunity to create mismatches against backups and claim a victory, assuming they are able to measure up to Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and the rest of Nick Sirianni’s staff.
SCORE AN EARLY TD
The Giants’ 45-point performance against the Colts started with a Malik Nabers touchdown reception from Drew Lock late in last Sunday’s first quarter. It was the Giants’ first touchdown in the first quarter in their past four games. It was only their second first-quarter TD since Week 3. And it was just their fourth all season. Even with the Eagles resting several starters, Philadelphia still has talent that can beat the Giants. Scoring early is the best way for Daboll’s team to avoid an embarrassing loss to Philly’s backups.
STOP THE RUN
The Eagles will plan to run the ball down the Giants’ throats with Kenny Gainwell and whoever else they put on the field. Jonathan Taylor just racked up 125 yards and two touchdowns last week for the Colts. If the Giants defense can’t stop it, they’ll have no hope of finishing their disappointing season on a two-game winning streak.
