TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A Woodlake man was arrested after several blue laser beams struck a sheriff's air unit Friday night, the Tulare County Sheriff's Office announced.
Deputies say around 8:30 p.m. their aerial unit was flying near the 1200 block of east Lakeview Avenue in Woodlake when a high-power blue laser struck the plane several times.
Investigators report the lasers guided deputies to the location they were being emitted from.
Upon arrival, responding deputies say there were multiple uncooperative people in the backyard of the home where the blue laser was located.
After investigating, the sheriff's office reports 29-year-old Jeronimo Garcia was suspected of wielding the laser.
Deputies say Garcia was taken into custody on suspicion of illegally discharging a laser and multiple active warrants.
