Water conservation request issued for Waipio community

WAIPIO, Hawaii (KHON2) -- Residents in the Waipio community are urged to conserve water until further notice.

On Saturday, Jan. 4 around 8 p.m., the Honolulu Board of Water Supply issued a conservation notice after an issue with a valve left the reservoir serving the community empty.
City to start Phase 8 of Kailua roundabout upgrades
In an 8:20 p.m. update, BWS announced residents should start receiving water once again.
Officials noted water pressures may be lower than normal until the water system fully recovers.
Customers are advised to use water for essential needs only such as cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene.
