SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Emergency crews rushed to a main intersection in Oak Park Saturday afternoon after a car rolled over into a fire hydrant, causing water to spew into the air. San Diego Police officers and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to the intersection of Chollas Road and Euclid Avenue in the Oak Park neighborhood of San Diego at 3 p.m. Saturday. Water main break impacts around 200 residents in Point Loma Not much information is known as to what led up to the collision, but police say one car rolled over into a fire hydrant, landing on its roof, causing water to spew about 100 feet into the air for over an hour until crews were able to shut off the water. SDFD posted this video of the water gushing into the air with the overturned car next to it. The water was also spraying on nearby power lines, so SDG&E was called in to shut off the power temporarily as well. Camp Pendleton, Naval Base San Diego heighten gate security, but why? The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police say, and that drugs and/or alcohol were not believed to be a factor. The intersection reopened to traffic just after 5 p.m. Saturday.
