According to a release from Lincoln Transportation and Utilities to KFOR News, a snow emergency parking ban will be in effect at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, January 5. That means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes. Maps of these routes are available at lincoln.ne.gov/snow under the “Parking Bans & Ordinances” tab. Please plan for alternate parking to allow crews room to clear the way safely and efficiently.  No residential parking bans are in effect for now. LTU crews are on patrol treating emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes with granular salt pre-wet with brine. Plow teams are on alert in anticipation of accumulating overnight snowfall.  Drivers should exercise caution, remain prepared for winter driving conditions, and watch for slick spots, especially on untreated surfaces.
