ISP: Blue Alert over for man who shot IN deputy

WEST BADEN, Ind. — Indiana State Police has concluded the Blue Alert for a wanted man due to his role in shooting an Orange County deputy.
The two-day manhunt for the shooter of an Orange County deputy sheriff has concluded tonight in Louisville, Kentucky, according to the Indiana State Police (ISP).
Tonight, State Police investigators and officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department were attempting to locate 33-year-old Austin Schepers. They were led to a home in Louisville where they located him.

Details of the confirmation remain under investigation. However, ISP states the confrontation resulted in Schepers being shot and killed at the scene by law enforcement.
The Louisville Metro Police Department will provide additional information on their officers' involvement during the encounter with more details as they become available.
There is no longer a threat to public safety regarding the manhunt for Schepers. The Indiana State Police thanks the public for their assistance in locating Schepers.
