MPD: Man arrested in connection to Northeast DC shooting that injured 5

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man was arrested in connection to a shooting that injured five people in Northeast D.C.
On Jan. 3 at about 8:20 p.m., police responded to the 1500 block of Harry Thomas Way for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two men and a woman who had been shot. They were conscious and breathing.
The three victims were transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Cold weather emergency activated in DC
Police learned that two additional men had also been shot and injured. The men transported themselves to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers said that one of the men who transported themselves to the hospital was the suspect in the shooting.
Deamonte Bridgeforth,28, of Northeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
MPD said this was a domestic incident and the shooting happened during an altercation between the suspect and one of the victims.
