Southeast Wisconsin weather: Possible lake effect snow
Jan 04, 2025
It's going to be another chilly and quiet winter night. At least the wind will be lighter. Under partly cloudy skies, low temperatures will range from around 8 in Milwaukee to around 3 in Waukesha. The big winter storm is staying to our south, but the lake effect snow machine turns on Sunday evening. As the wind shifts northeast, expect a band of lake effect snow to develop after 8pm Sunday. This band will likely hug the Lake Michigan shoreline through the night. It's possible a heavy band of lake snow parks itself somewhere between south Milwaukee and Kenosha. As of right now, most lakeside locations are in line for a couple inches of snow, with locally significantly higher amounts possible. StormTeam4 will pinpoint those specific locations over the next 24 hours.
