Holiday mess
Jan 04, 2025
I join the likes of hundreds of locals and tourists who had the misfortune of trying to ski this week, but particularly Dec. 27, at Park City Mountain. With a house full of family who all own full Epic passes in order to ski over the holidays, we headed to Park City Mountain for a fun family ski day. Between the lines (hundreds of people deep), the stopped chairs, the lack of ski patrol who rightfully walked off the job, scabs trying to figure out where to go, what to do, the lack of open terrain (why aren’t the blowers blowing in order to open up some terrain?) the long food lines, the long traffic lines to get into the resort, and lack of skier services directing the lift lines. No representation at Payday, Crescent or Bonanza lifts, and several runs open that shouldn’t be with rocks showing. What a hot mess Vail has made out of this holiday season. Begin to make things right by paying our ski patrollers a fair wage so that they can get back to work, and please make some snow and open some terrain!
