NEW LONDON, Conn. (WLNE) — Connecticut State Police said a Pawtucket man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a pursuit in a stolen Providence Police Cruiser. 27-year-old Jared Remson was charged with reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, failure to drive in the proper lane, 1st Degree larceny, and resisting arrest. Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday the stolen cruiser was seen on Interstate 95 near Exit 89. A state police cruiser followed the vehicle, which exited at Exit 88 in Groton before accelerating and taking Route 117. State police said officers followed the vehicle in an attempt to stop it as it was travelling over 100 mph. The vehicle was eventually stopped by Ledyard police with “stop sticks” and Remson was taken into custody. He failed to post bail and is expected in court in New London on Jan. 6.
