Man found hiding near scene of Commerce City shooting charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder after police found him hiding near the scene of a fatal shooting in Commerce City last week.
Fabian Benitez, 30, was charged with first-degree murder by the 17th Judicial District attorney’s office, according to a news release.
Police said Benitez was discovered hiding near East 62nd Avenue and Jasmine Court, where a person was found shot to death in a car early last Sunday.
Benitez is being held at the Adams County jail.
