Buffs split road doubleheader with H/SA Wolverines
Jan 03, 2025
Stanley County went on the road to Herreid/Selby Area for their first action of 2025 for a doubleheader, and both schools came out with a win. In the girls game, the Wolverines spread the wealth with four players combining for 36-points (Katie Allbee 11, Stephanie Allbee 9, Jordan Rossow & Taryn Hattick 8). Herreid/Selby Area took a commanding 9-point in the first quarter, but the Buffs led by Jorayah Walker would come back strong to close out the first half, but the Wolverines would be too persistent in their scoring and would go on to win 44-28.
In game two, the Buffs sought the split and exploded for 21-points in the second quarter alone. Kaden Montana led SC in scoring with 15, and Paxton Deal and Eddie Duffy both tallied 8, but it was the night of Ethan Leafgreen who was lethal from beyond the arc. Finishing with 12, the senior went 4/6 from three and provided the spark for the Buffs to cruise onto a 55-43 victory. The Buffs improve to 3-1 on the season and will take on Highmore-Harrold next Tuesday night at 8:00 PM.
