RACINE, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in southeast Wisconsin are investigating the death of a Racine County Jail inmate following an assault. According to a release, the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office was asked to conduct a criminal investigation after the assault occurred on December 31, 2024. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed out of respect for the family, was pronounced dead on January 1, 2025. Two Wisconsin men arrested after multi-agency pursuit The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office has recommended one count of first-degree intentional homicide against the suspect, identified as Davonte Carraway, to the Racine County District Attorney's Office. The case remains an open and active investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.
