EPPD: 1 dead, 1 hurt in stabbing at Northeast El Paso home

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - A 17-year-old teen is dead, and a 39-year-old woman was injured after being stabbed following an altercation that happened on New Year's Day at a Northeast El Paso home, El Paso Police said.

El Paso Police said at 9:38 p.m. on Jan. 1, officers responded to the 10300 block of Hollyhock to a reported stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found that Angel Guadalupe Ramirez, 17, and a 39-year-old woman, whom police didn't identify, sustained multiple stab wounds, El Paso Police said.
El Paso Police said both victims were taken to a local hospital. However, Ramirez died from his injuries. The severity of the woman's injuries is unknown.
Crimes Against Persons arrived at the scene and further investigation revealed that a male subject attempted to force his way into the home and an altercation occurred, El Paso Police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
