FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A "chaotic scene" unfolded Friday morning after a vehicle drove into a local Uncle Harry's New York Bagelry, injuring five people, according to the Fresno Fire Department.
According to officials, they received a call around 11 a.m. Friday morning of a vehicle into a restaurant at Cedar Avenue and Shaw Avenue.
Officials say there were around 25 people inside the bagel shop at the time of the accident.
According to the fire department, the driver of a silver Lexus appeared to have accidentally pressed on the wrong pedal, stepping onto the accelerator instead of the brakes.
Officials say the driver of the Lexus and a passenger were treated for injuries at the scene.
Three people inside the restaurant were also treated by paramedics; one of them was transported to the hospital.
Officials say the Uncle Harry's will be closed for an unknown amount of time.
The neighboring business, Jamba Juice, was also evacuated as a precaution. It is unknown if they will be able to open back up later today.
