SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - MassMutual Center presented a $5,512.06 check to the Springfield Boys and Girls Club. The center raised this money through its sold-out holiday event, 'Breakfast with Santa.' The money funded through this event will help the club continue to serve the community's kids with over 200 programs. The club's executive director says they will have access to educational opportunities. and enriching activities that will contribute to their development. "They need a positive place to go where there are caring people, great programs, excellent role models to give them that little boost that they're going to need as they get into the teens and then into adulthood," said Executive Director of the Springfield Boys and Girls Club, Vincent Borello. The club has seen its membership grow, over the last two years. They've seen an additional 2,000 kids join. In total, over 4,700 children are now part of the club.
