ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — A Pawtucket man is facing felony charges after he allegedly slammed a woman to the ground in a busy Attleboro intersection on Friday. Police responded to reports of a crash in the area of Newport and Highland avenues and arrived to find the victim in the roadway, crying and bleeding from her head. The suspect, 26-year-old Gladior Kwesiah, was standing over her, according to police. Witnesses told police it started after the woman rear-ended Kwesiah's vehicle. Another witness said they heard the two shouting, with the victim yelling, "Leave me alone!" Moments later, Kwesiah lifted the woman and slammed her "head first" onto the pavement, police said. A witness captured the incident on video. Police said the 31-year-old victim was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with significant injuries to her skull and eye socket, as well as a broken knee and broken foot. Kwesiah was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious injury, malicious destruction of property, and operating a vehicle without a license.
