NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Bomb materials and other evidence in connection to the New Year's Day Bourbon Street terror attack have been found at a home on Mandeville Street.
According to the FBI, they, along with the ATF, conducted an investigation on the house, resulting in the new evidence. Similar evidence was also found at suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar's home on Crescent Peak Drive, in Houston, Texas.

The New Orleans Fire Department reportedly responded to a fire at the Mandeville Street house on Jan. 1 at 5:18 a.m. The ATF has since determined that Jabbar allegedly made a fire in the hallway, and put accelerants throughout the house to destroy it, as well as any evidence of the terror attack.
After setting the fire, however, it had reportedly extinguished itself, being a smolder when the NOFD arrived and allowing evidence to be collected. According to the ATF, Jabbar was the only person who could have had access to the house when the fire was started.
Among the evidence collected were pre-cursors for bomb-making material and a privately-made device that is suspected of being a silencer for a rifle.

FBI officials say that evidence from other locations are also being evaluated. They believe that Jabbar planned to use a transmitter, found in the F150 truck, to detonate two IEDs that he had placed on Bourbon Street.
The transmitter, as well as two firearms connected to Jabbar, clothing and shell casings, are being taken to the FBI Laboratory for more testing.
As of Jan. 3, the FBI reports that 35 people have been injured, and 14 innocents have been killed. More injuries are expected to be reported in the coming days. For more updates, visit the FBI's Bourbon Street updates webpage.
