NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Flowers, candles and wooden crosses can be seen on Canal Street, near Bourbon Street, to remember those killed in the New Year's day terror attack. "It's just a tragedy that happened," said Andy Armas. Armas was on Canal Street just before the attack. On Friday, he draped a mardi gras feather boa along the crosses. "People came out to have a good time on New Year's Eve, just show respect that these people are here and then, you know, lives matter and that, you know, the senseless act. We should all come together and honor these people who had- just innocent victims who had nothing to do with this," said Armas. Jennifer Larousse placed teddy bears on the crosses as a tribute to the victims. She says she's praying for all of the people involved. "I can't even describe what I would feel if it would be me. It's almost like survivor's remorse in a way, you know, because it makes me feel so sad that these people have to go through something like this for a new year. And new beginnings," said Larousse. Just down Bourbon Street, there's a second memorial. Family, friends remember victims in New Orleans deadly attack Eddie Williams lit candles that spelled out Terry, to remember his uncle, 63-year-old Terrence Kennedy. He was killed in what Eddie calls a senseless attack. "He was a sweet, kind, kind guy. Real good. He really does come out here every day to see the second-line band. I got my uncle's name on the ground. We love you, Terry. And I know you still love us. And we'll see you soon. One day," said Williams. Visitors to the memorials say they know the city of New Orleans will forever honor the lives lost in the attack. "They are going to keep these people in prayer and lifted up and trust me, every new year. This will come on and they want to do a memorial. That's how New Orleans celebrates," said Quiniece Moore.
