Two victims of fireworks explosion identified by ME

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The medical examinerʻs office has released the identities of two women who were killed in the explosion in an Aliamanu neighborhood on New Yearʻs day.

Fifty-eight-year-old Nelie Ibarra and 23-year-old Jennifer Van were identified on Friday.
The cause and manner of their deaths are still pending.

The department also said that the identification of a third victim will be released at a later time.

Jennifer Van was the assistant manager at the Wahiawa Branch of Central Pacific Bank.
The CPB Chairman, President and CEO, Arnold Martines said in a statement:
“We were deeply saddened to learn of Jennifer’s passing. Her kindness, dedication, and vibrant energy positively impacted everyone who had the pleasure of working with her. The entire CPB ohana joins me in expressing our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Family and friends gathered in Aliamanu on Thursday to pay tribute to the three women who were killed after fireworks exploded at a home.
