Jan 03, 2025
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Happy New Year, El Paso!
Our region will see one more warm and windy day before cooler temperatures arrive early next week. Along with colder conditions, current models show a chance of precipitation in the form of snow after Tuesday.
For your Saturday we are looking at a high near 74 degrees with windy conditions starting in the morning through the night. Wind speeds will range from 15-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. A low near 41 is expected, and winds slowing down near midnight.
Sunday onward a cooling trend will be present, our region still staying 5-10 degrees above average through Tuesday. Gusty winds and a high near 53 will be the start of a major drop in temperatures as cold air pushes through, bringing with it the chance of snow.
Wednesday morning will feature a high below freezing in the 30s before slightly warming up to the mid-30s. Snow showers are likely as current data stands into the overnight hours where the low will drop to around 28. Flurries will still be a possibility on Thursday with a high around 43 and a low near 30.
