Columbia Police investigate deadly hitandrun, woman arrested in connection

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department says a woman has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run incident that happened last month.
Tierra F. Johnson, 31, is charged with hit-and-run accident involving death, and failure to give information and render aid.
In court on Friday, Jan. 3, a judge set Johnson’s surety bond at $75,000.
Johnson is accused of driving a Ford pickup truck on Dec. 19, 2024, in the 5400 block of Farrow Road, and hitting 71-year-old John Corbett.
Corbett was pronounced dead at the scene.

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department is investigating a deadly hit-and-run.
According to authorities, the incident took place Thursday evening, December 19, around 6 p.m. in the 5400 block of Farrow Road.
Columbia Police are still in the early stages of their investigation, but say their department’s Traffic Safety Unit says the collision involved a man who happened to be walking along Farrow Road.
The man was identified by the Richland County Coroner’s Office as 71-year-old John Corbett, of Columbia.
Also, investigators say a burgundy truck that is possibly a 2013 through 2017 Ford F150 was caught on surveillance around the time of the hit-and-run.
The F150 is believed to be missing the driver’s side hubcap and a dark window tint.
CPD says they are working with the Richland County Coroner’s Office as they continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
