UPDATE: CABARRUS CO., NC – An 80-year-old Cabarrus Co. man reported missing back in May has been found dead. Investigators say a hunter found the remains of Calvin Knotts. The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office says the hunter found what appeared to be human remains on Jim Sossoman Road on December 23, 2024. The Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the remains are those of Knotts and is working to determine the cause of death. Knotts suffered from dementia and had walked away from his home on Graybark Road in Midland on May 31, 2024. Investigators do not suspect foul play in his death. ORIGINAL STORY (POSTED 6/5/24): CABARRUS CO., NC – The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in finding 80-year-old Calvin Knotts. Knotts is a 6’1″ and 140 pound African American man who was last seen on Graybark Road in Midland at 10:00 a.m. on June 5. He was seen wearing a turquoise short sleeve shirt, blue jeans and potentially a baseball hat. Knotts suffers from dementia and does not have his medication with him.
