WASAHINGTON, DC (KXNET) — U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) was sworn in Friday for his second term representing North Dakota in the U.S. Senate. N.D. (Image: C-SPAN 2) The 119th Congress begins today and marks the first time Republicans in the House and Senate will be in the majority since 2019. Cramer was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018. Before that, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives.  "It’s the honor of a lifetime to serve the best people in the world in the United States Senate," Cramer said in a statement issued after his swearing in ceremony. He highlighted his work on the U.S. Space Force and developing new missions for the Grand Forks Air Force Base, among others, adding, "We’re going to build on those successes in this new term and I’m just grateful for the opportunity to be able to do it and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead." Cramer co-chairs the Congressional Coalition on Adoption, co-chairs the Defense Modernization Caucus and the American Canadian Economy and Security Caucus. Cramer will maintain his committee assignments and serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Banking Committee, Environment and Public Works Committee, and Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
