CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Temperatures feel a bit colder across western Massachusetts and the 22News Storm Team is forecasting colder temperatures over the next week.  NOAA has released its monthly outlook for January and with temperatures cold the last few days it looks like it will stay that way for a while. The temperature outlook over the next 8-14 days in the Northeast looks to be slightly below average with January as a whole being around average.  A double dose of nasty winter is about to smack much of the US with snow, ice and biting cold 7 Day Forecast When it comes to precipitation, there is not a lot of it to be found over the next week, but NOAA does forecast an above-average month when it comes to rain and snow. The average high temperature for January is 34 degrees and the average low temperature is 17 degrees.  January usually has 3.2 inches of rain on average and 13.8 inches of snow.  Local News Headlines Hawk found trapped under solar panel rescued in Springfield Portion of Mass.
