Hawk found trapped under solar panel rescued in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A hawk has returned to the wild with the help of firefighters in Springfield on Thursday.
Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte said firefighters were called to 5 West Hill Road for an animal rescue. Upon arrival, they found a red-tailed hawk entangled in netting beneath a rooftop solar panel.

The firefighters had to cut the netting to be able to free the hawk. The hawk was released and flew away unassisted.
