PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — After 50 years in business, Berk's Shoes & Clothing Store in Providence is closing its doors. The store on Thayer Street said the decision was not made lightly, and it is time to "retire and move on." "We want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your support, loyalty, and patronage over the years," a note on the door read. "From all of us at Berk's, thank you for being a part of our journey." The store encourages shoppers to take advantage of their final sales, discounts and promotions.
