88yearold man, dog killed in North Carolina house fire

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 88-year-old man and a dog lost their lives in a house fire late Thursday night, the Rowan County Sheriff's Office states.
Around 10:39 p.m. on Jan 2., the Sheriff's Office says they were contacted by fire crews about a house fire on Log Barn Road This is just outside of Faith and south of Salisbury.

The resident of the home, Riley Vester Robinson, 88, passed away due to injuries from the fire. A dog in the house also died.
The Sheriff's Office and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the cause of the fire.
"We send our condolences to the Robinson family," the Sheriff's Office wrote.
