ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A boutique hotel in western North Carolina's biggest city has been voted one of the best new places to stay in the U.S. The Radical Hotel in Asheville has been picked as the second-best new hotel in the country by readers of USA Today's 10best.com. Located in the famed River Arts District, the 70-room hotel is housed in a remodeled historic building. "The Radical Hotel offers a one-of-a-kind experience with eclectic, edgy decor and stunning views," 10best.com wrote. "This hip hotel caters to travelers who appreciate rustic adventure, making it a must-visit destination for those exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains." But like many other businesses in western North Carolina—particularly in the heavily damaged River Arts district, which lies on the banks of the French Broad River—The Radical was impacted by Hurricane Helene. After a temporary closure following the storm, the boutique hotel is scheduled to open back up on Jan. 3, according to its website. The Radical is located at 95 Roberts St. in Asheville. In addition to standard rooms, the hotel also offers suites and studios.
