MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Wisconsin have released an update regarding a man who became unresponsive while being taken to jail on Dec. 31, 2024. According to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the man, who remains unidentified, died Tuesday, Dec. 31. Woman pronounced dead at the scene of Wisconsin house fire, cause under investigation Shortly before 8:30 p.m., Madison police responded to a report of a vehicle theft at the Best Western on Annamark Drive. A foot chase ensued with the man, who was taken into custody. Emergency medical services were requested to evaluate him before he was transported to jail. Oshkosh PD looking for 23-year-old man who has been missing for roughly 5 months Upon arrival at the jail, the man was reportedly found unresponsive. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The law enforcement officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, as is standard policy. The incident remains under investigation.
