BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a teenager and her grandmother. Officers were called to the 5500 block of St. Gerard Avenue around 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2. BRPD said they found a grandmother and her 14-year-old granddaughter were hurt. They were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. BRPD is searching for a motive and suspect in this case. Investigators are seeking the public's help in this case. If anyone has information that could be helpful to detectives, they are asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 225-389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
