HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) - A sandwich shop known for its hoagies that offered an "authentic Philly experience" has closed. Hoagie City, located at 3870 Main St. in Hilliard, permanently closed its deli in December. The shop announced its closure, citing rising food costs, labor and inconsistent sales, according to the post on social media. Blue Jackets, Wildlights: weekend events in central Ohio The deli shop brought Philadelphia-style food choices to its menu, featuring a variety of sandwiches on authentic Philly rolls with freshly sliced cheese, crushed cherry peppers or sweet pepper strips, according to the company website. The shop also offers cheesesteaks, fresh cut fries, homemade macaroni, potato salad and more. The deli also sold lunchmeat and cheese by the pound. In its post, Hoagie City went on to thank customers and mentioned supporting local businesses. Since the post, the deli shop has been labeled as "permanently closed" when searched online and on its Facebook page. The closure joins many other restaurants and shops closed in 2024, including El Segundo Mexican Kitchen in the Short North, Fusian in Dublin and Little Palace on S. Fourth St.
