NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Friday morning in New Bedford, Mayor Jon Mitchell will help honor one of the city’s most famous residents. Mayor Mitchell will unveil the winning design of a statue of Moby Dick author, Herman Melville. The city issued a request across the country to find an artist and their design for the project. 40 artists submitted their designs.
