MOORE, Okla. (KFOR) — The Moore Police Department released new details about a high speed chase on New Year's Eve that led to the arrest of a metro woman. The eight-minute chase went from Moore to southwest Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Moore Police officers were trying to stop 35-year-old Kayla Cervantes. "Officers and undercover agents, we're working to have make a fentanyl purchase with the suspect," said Clint Byley with Moore Police. "Before we could set up and meet her face-to-face, she noticed the undercover car in the area, and she proceeded to not pull in to the agreed buy spot." Cervantes took off and sped away from NE 27th and Eastern Avenue starting a miles-long chase. "She eventually went all the way up to 240, running through red lights, driving erratically and dangerously before getting onto the highway. At that point, she proceeded to weave in and out of traffic onto the shoulder and at high rates of speed and eventually she exited near Walker." Moore Police chase ends in SE Oklahoma City Dash camera footage shows Cervantes speeding and weaving through traffic. You see her driving in the wrong direction and through parking lots before cutting through a grassy median and getting back on I-240. "Eventually officers TVI, her and her vehicle near at 240 GS," said Byley. "Officers exited their vehicles and pulled her out of her vehicle." Cervantes was then taken to a local hospital and checked for injuries. Once she was cleared, she was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on several felony charges. Police said Cervantes also had multiple drug warrants throughout the state.
