HONOLULU, Hawaii (KHON2) -- Family and friends gathered in Aliamanu on Thursday to pay tribute to the three women who were killed after fireworks exploded at a home on New Years. Loved ones identified Charmaine Benigno as one of the victims who was critically injured during the explosion. Relatives said her injuries are severe and her two son's are staying with her boyfriend's parents. Sadly, they said her mother was one of the victims. Officials have not identified the victims, but said a 23-year-old woman also died at the hospital a few hours later. People nearby said it was just a normal party before chaos ensued. "They just wanted to have a good time and ring in the New Year with people they loved and cared about," said a woman who lives across the street. Surveillance video shows dozens of people near the carport, and upstairs of the house, but once the blast happens, you only see one or two people come in and out of the frame. Thirteen seconds after the initial blast, the fireworks began shooting across the street towards neighbors homes. Angelina Bagaforo lives across the street, she was inside at the time, but had friends outside her home when the blast happened. Illegal fireworks crackdown intensifies across Hawaii "My friend carried our friend into the house, she had lacerations on her fingers, she was bleeding, we couldn't tell where it was coming from but when we realized it wasn't a major artery or vein and we kept her stabilized," she explained. She said her friend then looked at her and said there were a lot of people outside who needed help. "People out here were dazed, just trying to figure out where the triage center is, asking for help, laying in the street, it was a lot," she said. "But the family across the street, they also lost people and loved ones, it was a terrible tragedy but none of us could have foreseen it," Bagaforo added. KHON2 spoke to another woman who was injured along with her one-year-old, she said she and her son are doing okay after suffering minor scratches and cuts. She added the whole situation is a lot to process and she's praying for others who weren't as fortunate. Another girl said she's worried for her 12-year-old friend. "She kept saying Aleighya, I cant feel my legs, like it was hurt but numb, and I looked at her leg when she was leaving and it was bleeding," Aleighya Corpuz said. She said her friend was excited to go to a flag football game in Texas but doesn't know if she'll be able to because of what happened.
