After we saw sunshine and quiet weather during the daytime hours on Thursday, a weather system is bringing periods of snow to the area through the overnight hours. While this is not a big snow-maker, the quick inch of snowfall from this system is causing slick roadways. Behind this system, we're tracking occasional lake effect snow showers, as a result of gusty northwest winds blowing over Lake Michigan. We'll see gusts up to 30 mph at times, creating an added chill in the air. Make sure you bundle up, as high temperatures will be in the mid-20s and wind chill values will only reach as high as the teens. Little snow accumulation is expected from the lake effect snow shower activity, but do watch out for reduced visibilities at times.
